The department of computer science and engineering (CS&E) offers courses in several training programs of École des Mines.

Formation ingénieur civil des mines (FICM)

This is the main program offered at École des Mines. Its full description is available here.

In the first year, students follow a core curriculum to which members of the department contribute via two courses in computer science and engineering and the supervision of scientific projects.

For the second and third years, students join one of the five scientific departments for two years.

In the second year at the CS&E department, each student follows 8 out of 10 courses in the department (in addition to the core scientific curriculum, elective courses, humanities and languages). These courses offer a broad introduction to computer science and engineering while preparing for specialization in computer security, artificial intelligent systems and software engineering.

The third year can be spent in Nancy or abroad, in a dual degree. For students that stay in Nancy, the third year of the CS&E department offers two tracks for the first semester: computer security or artificial intelligent systems. The final semester is devoted to the Projet de fin d'études, a 6-month internship.

Below is an overview of the department courses for the 3 semesters of specialization.
